Broken knobs on Samsung FX510BGS gas range
About 6 months ago, I noticed that one of the knobs on the range cracked on the inside so it was unusable. I wasn't sure if this is something that I or someone of my household caused, or if it was a manufacturing issue, so I did not complain to Samsung about it. Over time another one fell apart. When I looked at all of the knobs, 4 out of 5 are either broken or have a crack in it, so it's only a matter of time before those also fall apart.
Today I finally called Samsung customer service and was told that the range is out of warranty and they can't help me. I complained saying that I understand if one is broken, 'cause these things happen sometimes, but that if 4 out of 5 are broken in a year of use, then it makes me think it's a manufacturing defect. I also complained that even if I purchase replacements, I have no guarantee that they will not fall apart within a year again. I was then transferred to "executive customer service" and was told that they cannot do anything about this. My only choice is to purchase new knobs. I asked again if there was nobody that could make the decision to send me replacement knobs. I was told NO. Overall I am happy with my oven, but would not purchase it again if I knew that the issue with the knobs would arise and that Samsung did not care about their customers. Especially since my entire kitchen has Samsung appliances.
