Dryer drum cracked in under 3 years - Samsung DV350AEW

First off, I'd like to say I've been a pretty dedicated purchaser of Samsung products, especially electronics. I have around 20-30 Samsung products including phones, tablets, hard drives, solid state drives, flash drives, point-and-shoot camera, speakers,... More...

I have a Samsung 5200 dryer that is just now 7 months old and have the same problem. They advised they would contact me within 2-3 business days to schedule a service call, but my faith in Samsung is gone after reading all the problems others are having with the same issue. Hopefully I can get a refund and go buy a different brand.

We too have been dedicated Samsung purchasers and have had little to no issues until now. We also have the same front load dryer DV350AEW that was purchased 1 mth prior to yours, December 2011. It was replaced about July 2012 because there was an issue with the clothes not dryer properly. It's worked great up until about November 2014 when the thumping started. At first I thought it just wasn't level but we couldn't get the thumping to stop. Clothes started to get stuck and of course ruined. Then I notice the crack in the drum. I instantly called samsung just this week with the model number but of course they also needed the serial number so I had to call back. I asked for the executive office instead of just customer service as the first person told me it was out of warranty and he couldn't do anything about it. Today I spoke with the excecutive office for 45 mins. I also spoke with one of the supervisors of the excecutive office who only offered me an extended warranty for 1 yr (which I would have to pay for). However that would take care of this drum issue and anything for the next yr. Are you kidding me, only one yr. Of course he couldn't tell me how much that would cost me nor could he tell me how much a new drum would cost. He wanted to transfer me to the warranty department. When I asked who his supervisor was and if he was available to speak to, he said his supervisor wouldn't be able to do anything more than him because the product was out of warranty. He also stated that people post complaints all the time online but they have no record of any other complaints in their system about cracked drums on this or any of their other dryers.

Samsung does not seem to care at all about their customers. I will not purchase another Samsung product. I will however continue to bug their customer service about this issue and try to find a resolution as I don't feel all of these customers (including myself) deserve to spend this much on a dryer for it to fall apart and ruin their clothes in less than 2 yrs.
