Samsung Broken Dryer - Samsung Steam Dryer

Purchased a Samsung front load washer and dryer two years ago. Yesterday the dryer drum stopped moving. I called CS and was told the dryer was out of warranty and needed to be serviced. I called a service tech today who informed me that Samsung has had major problems with the belt and pulley system of the dryers, but they refuse to recall them. Had to call another service tech because the first one was in a different town. Have someone coming out tomorrow but he informed me that it will take up to 10 days to get any Samsung part for the dryer. Are you kidding me? Come on Samsung- $80.00 service call, plus labor and parts and 10 days without a dryer? This is dryer is TWO years old. I so regret buying a Samsung- Should have stuck with Whirlpool- I never had any problems with them.

My don't loading steam dryer is approximately 4 years old and it quit working today. It turns on but when I push the start button nothing happens. Is this what happens when the belt breaks?Thx for your answer.

I just got my Samsung steam dryer (not a front loader) yesterday. I was so excited as our previous W/D set was nearly 15 years old. So as soon as my husband had them hooked up, I started a load of laundry. The Samsung washer was quiet and amazing, but when I put the clothes in the dryer and tried to start it, it made the most horrendous noise! The belt is broken or slipped off we're not sure, but I'm sure that it seems it was broken at the time of purchase which is absolutely ridiculous!

Same problem, here! I just called Samsung and I am about to have my 3rd belt pulley system replaced. I have had this dryer repaired every year that I have had this dryer.

Having exact same problem, except my Samsung dryer is barely a year old. Had to wait four days for a Sears service technician to come, and then he told me a new belt had to be ordered which will take at least a week to arrive. Her said he has asked Sears to give him 2-3 belts to have on his truck since this repair issue is so common. . . .but they will only give him one and he always uses it immediately. So now we have company coming and. . . . too bad Samsung/Sears customer! At least I know not to buy another Samsung dryer. . . an expensive lesson as my “high tech” dryer was not cheap.

Exact same problem except my dryer is barely a year old. . . the technician who came out said it will be at least 7 days before he can get the belt as they only give him one at a time and he always uses it immediately as there are so many repairs for this issue. So I will have not been able to use my dryer for at least 10 days by the time it's repaired. . . . of course, feeling frustrated, angry and put out for the inconvenience that my broken 'high tech" dryer has caused. . . I use it every day and now have company coming. . . .too bad, Samsung customers! I'll not be buying another Samsung appliance.
