Samsung Applicances Suck - do not buy - samsung


About 1.5 yrs ago we did major renos to our house, which included upgrading our appliances. Of the 6 appliances we purchased (Fridge, stove, over the range microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher) only the dishwasher is not a Samsung . Since that time we have had the dryer go belly up (circuit board) and the microwave lost all power. For the microwave, the door latch broke. Being the mechanically minded guy I am, I took off the plastic inside trim on the door, removed the plastic door latch and replaced the spring and latch and closed the door. (getting ahead of my self, because it was going to be a couple days before I got the new door latch I unplugged the microwave because I did not want the light burning as the door would not latch). Put everything back together. The door closes great, went to plug it back in and no power at all. Not even the clock. Thought I would check the breaker in the breaker box. That was fine but I recycled the switch all the same. Still nothing. Checked the voltage on the plug, was getting 120v. Tried a different plug. Still nothing. Called Samsung and got the sad old story, "It is past the expiration date of the warranty and you tried fixing it yourself. %u201C Now this repair does not take a rocket scientist to fix. I would not touch anything outside my level of comfort on anything. "Pity," says I, "I own all these appliances and 2 Samsung TVs (50" each) 2 laptop computers and 3 cell phones. So much for customer loyalty. And out of the 5 major appliances from Samsung I own, 40% of them died within a year and a half of use. I am dreading the other 3 things to kick the bucket here soon." Again they told me it is out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. Well I know what I am going to do, I am going to post everywhere I can that I will not buy another Samsung product again, and let everyone know not to do the same. Do not follow the customer reviews of what great products these are. We made that mistake, hence all the appliances.
